ALBION HURRICANES FC SCHOLARSHIP

Aaron is a fourteen-year old soccer enthusiast who has been playing soccer for six years. He is going into his freshman year of high school where he will be pursuing a high school diploma as well as an Associate Degree. Aaron has always played as a goal keeper and genuinely loves it. When Aaron was seven years old, his older brother became interested in soccer and would spend all his spare time outside playing; Aaron being the good brother that he is would always go after his brother and in doing so, Aaron found a new love. Aaron is a kind-hearted, easy-going, sweet kid who loves God, spending time with his family, and making new friends. In his spare time, Aaron likes to watch movies and listen to music. He is a true Texan who loves barbeque just as much as a nice hamburger. Finally, Aaron is a hard worker who is always ready to put the work in. We are incredibly thankful and humbled to receive the Silas Yi.

Tilley is a 10 year old soccer enthusiast who is going into her third year of play. She grew up watching her big sisters play and now is patiently teaching her baby sister all the skills she has learned. Tilley has a big heart, she loves chatting with elderly people wherever we go and is always a friend and protector to those with special needs. She loves animals and art and dreams of playing soccer someday in college. I explained the significance of this scholarship and who it is named for and it brought her to tears. We pray that she will make Silas' family proud and honor his memory. We are truly thankful from the bottom of our hearts. God bless the Yi family.

Landon has been an avid soccer fan and player since he could walk. Growing up with 2 siblings who also played, his life was surrounded by the sport. He is passionate about goalkeeping and constantly is looking to do his best, even if it means making his dad set up a training net in the back yard! This coming year he will be a junior in high school and will be working on getting his pilots license alongside his coursework as well. After he graduates, he plans on entering an aviation program where he can gain experience and become a commercial pilot. Landon looks forward to the ways he can continue to learn and grow both as a person and a player in this upcoming season.

Lola Herzik, or "Lo," to her family and friends began playing soccer in February of this year. Lola made the decision to play goalkeeper during her first practice and has taken well to the position. Lola is very committed to the goalkeeping position and sport of soccer. She might not be the biggest girl, but her shy, timid personality seems to wash away when she straps on her gloves. Lola is a natural protector who will do anything to support her team and prevent the ball from getting past her. Lola's number one love is soccer, but she also enjoys arcades, reading, and playing with her dog, Weechie. Lola is a dedicated and loyal young girl with many fans, but most of all her older sister, Fin. People gravitate towards Lola when she opens up and lets her personality shine, and her family are proud to be part of Albion Hurricanes FC.

Juvenal Mendoza, also known as "Jay Jay" to his family and friends, is 12 years old and in the 7th grade. Juvenal is a very empathetic and understanding young man who always finds ways to help others. Juvenal has been playing soccer since the age of 4, and decided to become a goalkeeper after an injury that put him out for three seasons. Juvenal's dedication and drive to better himself can be seen on the field as he works to achieve his dreams in becoming a professional goalkeeper. In addition to his soccer skills, Juvenal is smart, does well in school, is learning how to play the guitar, loves to draw, and plays video games in his spare time.
