FUTSAL PROGRAM

BENEFITS OF FUTSAL

Why should young players participate in Futsal?
Futsal is paramount to developing technical ability and quick decision making. This five-a-side game is played in a small pace without the use of walls which forces players to control the ball under high pressure.

How does Futsal translate to an 11-a-side match?
It is an incredibly fast paced game. There is a short window of opportunity and limited space which forces players to think quickly. In addition, a Futsal match consists of 20 minute halves. In this 40 minute match, researchers have found that a player receives the ball 6x more than they would in a 90 minute match.

What are the benefits of Futsal?

The game of soccer has evolved. Now days, defenders have just as much ability as attackers. “The goal of this program is to equip all players with the mental and technical ability to succeed in soccer. My game had reached its peak until I stumbled upon Futsal and because of it’s fast pace, outdoor soccer was seemingly in slow motion.” - Eliel Pierre, AHFC Futsal Director.
