Welcome, Join us for the Albion Hurricanes Memorial Day Cup 2008, (MDC08) being held at Bear Creek Park in Houston, Texas - May 24th and 25th, 2008. This soccer tournament will provide you with an excellent opportunity for a top-flight tournament to end your season or to tryout your newly formed 2008-2009 team ! Based on our average over the last 7 years - at least 160 teams from Texas and Louisiana will participate this year. A few of the Clubs committed to sending a number of their teams this year include: Texas Rush, Austin United Capitals, Texas Premier FC, Texas Heatwave, Texans FC, Eclipse SC and of course the Albion Hurricanes FC - so get your team registered soon! Games will be scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, May 24th and 25th only. The MDC08 is for all ages and divisions, from U9 boys/girls recreational to boys/girls Division I, Super II and Division II for U11-U18. A special division will be created for teams who will be U-11 (New U11s!) in the upcoming fall 2008 to 2009 season (for this reason there will be no U10 age brackets). This group will be open to teams preparing to play either Division One (open) or Super 2/Division 2 (competitive). This event helps many of these new teams to better determine how to proceed in the bracketing for their upcoming fall qualifications. We will provide for 8v8 brackets and if there is enough interest - 11v11 brackets may also be formed. New U11 Teams will not be restricted on the number of guest players on the roster for this event. All players rostered must have a valid player card. 8v8 roster max size is 12. 11v11 max roster is 18. Separate competitive/open divisions will be created in each age group whenever possible. Teams from both within and outside of STYSA are invited to participate in this great and challenging - weekend of soccer in Houston over the Memorial Day weekend!
