A Day to Remember

The Albion Hurricanes FC (AHFC) Club Day marked the official opening of the Campbell Road Complex with a ceremonial ribbon cutting by Oliver Luck, President of the Houston Dynamos, and Toni Lawrence, District A, Houston City Council, on Saturday, February 2.

The AHFC Club Day was a tremendous success in every respect. There were matches throughout the day, Dynamo activities, skills contests, moon walk, concessions, information and donation booths, and AHFC Club Gear sales. The event was covered by Channel 11 and the Houston Chronicle. The success of this event was a direct result of numerous people that comprise our club, who give selflessly of their time and energy.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of our guests whose presence gave the ceremony greater importance; Oliver Luck, Toni Lawrence, Rev. Paul May, Chris Wondolowski, Diesel, Memorial Hermann Hospital, and all of the AHFC players, families and coaches that make this club what it is today. The complex will not only provide our fine young men and women a state of the art training facility but will also service the youth from the community in which we are located. The facility, along with world-class coaching and innovative techniques will help instill the proper framework, confidence, and sportsmanship within our athletes will empower all to purse their goals and dreams.

$1M Soccer Complex Dedication A Success

Houston, TX - The Albion Hurricanes FC (AHFC) Club Day celebrated the official opening of its Campbell Road Complex on Saturday, February 2. The ribbon cutting was performed by Oliver Luck, President of the Houston Dynamos, and Toni Lawrence, District A Houston City Councilperson, along with Pastor Paul May, Ministerio Esperanza en Cristo, to the cheers of over 200 parents, players, and visitors.

The AHFC Club Day was a tremendous success and continued throughout the day as several hundred people watched continuous soccer matches, Dynamo activities & autographs, soccer skills contests, information and donation booths, AHFC Club Gear sales, moon walk, and food concessions.

Also in attendance during the day were representatives of Memorial Hermann Hospital, Chris Wondolowski - forward for the Houston Dynamo and Diesel - mascot for the Houston Dynamo.


Nonprofit AHFC invested over $1.2 million in improvements to the complex and Chapelwood United Methodist Church acquired the site, located at 3911 Campbell Road, to provide soccer based activities & training to club members and under served youth of the community. It provides local community soccer programs such as Friday Night Futbol and summer camps in collaboration with the Spring Branch Memorial Sports Association. AHFC provides expert soccer instruction reaching 3,000 of Houston's youth.

AHFC was established in 1989 and is the fastest growing boys & girls competitive soccer club in South Texas with its teams successfully competing from the recreational level to the highest levels of competitive soccer state wide. Teams are coached by world class licensed staff using innovative techniques to instill the proper framework, confidence, and sportsmanship in its players.

Club Dedicates $1 Million

Soccer Complex


Houston, TX - Albion Hurricanes FC (AHFC) invites the public to attend its Club Day marking the official opening of their new $1.2 million soccer complex on Saturday, February 2, from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. A ceremonial ribbon cutting by Oliver Luck, Houston Dynamo President & General Manager, will commemorate the event at 10 A.M.


The AHFC Club Day will have games for various age groups throughout the day along with information tables about the club, its new facility, Houston Dynamo information, and soccer skills contests.The complex is located at 3911 Campbell Road and offers 2 full size competition fields and 1 small sided field that can accommodate up to 8 practice fields. The club and its supporters have spent over $1.2 million to develop the site in order to provide soccer based activities and training to club members and underserved youth of the community as well as providing local community soccer programs such as Friday Night Futbol and summer camps. This is in collaboration with the Spring Branch Memorial Sports Association. AHFC provides expert soccer training to 3,000 of Houston's youth.

 


The complex is a joint venture between the nonprofit Albion Hurricanes FC and the Chapelwood United Methodist Church, which is developing a community center on the site. Albion Hurricanes FC New $1.25M Facility Announced

The joint project between Albion Hurricanes FC and Chapelwood will be completed in July. The new 11 acre site is located at 3911 Campbell Road.
